Regional RCMP investigate multiple thefts over Family Day weekend

RCMP in North West Saskatchewan communities dealt with multiple calls over the weekend.

Maidstone RCMP is investigating a break and enters that occurred early Monday morning in the R.M. of Britannia, near Lloydminster. Five long rifle firearms were stolen from a residence.

On Sunday evening, St. Walburg RCMP got a call regarding a truck theft from a residence in town. The vehicle, described as a black, four-door 2009 Chevrolet Silverado (Sask License 963-MIJ), has a headache rack and toolbox in the back of the truck.

In the Turtleford area, police believe an incident from Jan. 23 may have involved arson. Officers were called to a private property near the Hamlet of Sandy Point on Brightsand Lake, where two large pieces of logging machinery, a John Deere Processor and John Deere wheel buncher were set on fire and were determined a total loss. Police are seeking public assistance in their investigation.

Meadow Lake vehicles

Two reported vehicle thefts occurred in the last few days in Meadow Lake. RCMP received a report on Saturday that a grey 2006 GMC Envoy SLE (Sask License 016-LXQ) was stolen from a business on 5th St. West. Then early this morning, a black 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 (Sask License 394-JFV) was stolen from a residence in the City. The Silverado has small company decals on the rear windows.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents can all their local detachment, 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
