Joint Alberta-Saskatchewan crime crackdown leads to 52 arrest warrants

A four-day, multi-agency crime reduction operation in Lloydminster resulted in the execution of 52 outstanding arrest warrants and dozens of additional enforcement actions.

The operation, conducted between July 14 and July 17, brought together 10 policing units from Alberta and Saskatchewan in a coordinated effort targeting non-compliant drivers, people with outstanding arrest warrants and locations and individuals posing ongoing enforcement issues.

During the operation, officers stopped more than 200 cars, executed 52 arrest warrants and laid two charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, along with 16 additional Criminal Code charges.

Police also issued 118 provincial violation tickets and 197 warnings. Officers recorded 17 drug-related licence suspensions and vehicle impoundments, 11 alcohol-related suspensions and impoundments, seized 28 vehicles, recovered stolen property and dealt with other offences, including bylaw contraventions.
