City building permit numbers staying strong

Jan 14, 2022 | 5:59 PM

The City of North Battleford is continuing to show strong numbers for building permits, reflecting ongoing growth.

Corporate Services Director Jennifer Niesink was pleased with the results presented at this week’s council meeting for both business licences and building permits.

Business licences for 2021 had a total value of $221,574, a little less than $230,786 reported for 2020.

“[It] was just shy of 2020 but still a very good number,” Niesink said.

For building permits, there were 102 permits issued in 2021 with a total value of $22,560,700. In comparison, 91 permits were issued in 2020 with a total value of $23,477,428.

“It was another great year,” Niesink said. “Those numbers we are very happy with.”

She said there were “a couple of years a little bit higher than we expected with building permits, which is a wonderful thing to see the city still growing.”
