Outdoor tennis now allowed in North Battleford

Apr 28, 2021 | 11:49 AM

It’s game on again for tennis lovers in North Battleford.

Director of Parks and Recreation Cheryl DeNeire reported at council this week the city is now able to open its outdoor tennis courts to the public again while following COVID-19 restrictions.

City Manager Randy Patrick said the province changed its rules which enables the city some leeway to be able to permit tennis, with conditions.

“Apparently, signage was sufficient. So we don’t have to have a staff member there [to monitor it],” he said.

DeNeire noted that single play only is permitted.

An individual is allowed to play with only one family member. People are asked to follow the signage posted.

“The rules for COVID are on the fences,” DeNeire said. “We hope that everybody enjoys their time. If you have any issues or questions, contact the recreation department and we will try and resolve those as best as we can.”
