Roll-out bin inventory underway in North Battleford

Jan 23, 2021 | 10:00 AM

North Battleford residents can expect to see city workers in near future checking out their recycling bins.

The city is performing a physical inventory of roll-out bins for trash and recycling at each property. City employees will manually record the serial number of the bins, along with the physical address. Communications manager Dustin MacDonald said it’s is the time they’ve undertaken this in several years, since bringing in the roll-out program.

“It’s just so we have the proper inventory of all the recycling trash bins,” he said.

MacDonald said they are looking to get an accurate inventory to handle future requests and meet customer demand as quickly as possible, whether they are adding or removing bins.

“We’ll have a precise count of each bin at each location and then we can ensure customers will be billed for their appropriate bin,” he said. “Especially in the case were someone might be billed for two bins instead of one.”

He added that residents shouldn’t be alarmed by city workers at their residence.

“All we’re doing is just checking serial numbers and what property address they are at.”

This process will take place for the next several months. Any further information can be found at the city’s website.
