Young boy drowns at Tobin Lake while swimming with family

Some sad news from Saturday, July 25 at Tobin Lake.

“Just an absolute tragedy,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Rob King said. “A young boy, a six-year-old boy swimming with his family. He went missing and then was located a short time later by family members, unfortunately unresponsive in the water.”

EMS and police responded. CPR and other efforts were made but were not successful.

King added conditions at Tobin Lake were not favourable at the time.

“It was a very windy day apparently at the beach,” he said. “Tobin Lake can get quite rough.”
