City council meeting happening Tuesday, via live video-streaming

Apr 13, 2020 | 5:00 PM

Those wishing to tune in to the upcoming City of North Battleford council meeting will want to note the new date.

The meeting will now take place Tuesday instead of Monday via Zoom, a live video-streaming online application. The meeting will start at 6:15 p.m. but people can access the site starting at 6 p.m.

The city decided to move to a digital format for the immediate future to accommodate the province’s COVID-19 prevention measures. Those include a ban on gatherings of more than 10 people in one place, and require people to follow social distancing protocols, staying at least two-metres away from others.

People can click on the link provided on the city’s website, and enter the webinar ID and the password to view the meeting online.

Participants can also access the event by telephone. For higher quality they are asked to select one of the phone numbers listed based on their current location.

Some of the items on the agenda for the evening include an update on the COVID-19 financial impact to the city; an update on the COVID-19 operations; a taxicab application from NB City Cab Inc.; wastewater disposal services for an out-of-city business; and an update on the Haven-4-Eight rooming house project.
