Police arrest escaped inmate during impaired driving investigation

Police have arrested an inmate who escaped custody earlier this month.
John Riley Sanderson, 32, escaped custody when he was being escorted from the courthouse to a transport vehicle on Jan. 2.
Today, Stanley Mission RCMP officers were responding to an impaired driving report on Highway 915 when they located a vehicle in a ditch. The driver and lone occupant was identified as Sanderson, who was arrested for impaired driving in addition to his outstanding warrants.
Sanderson is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court tomorrow.
