Former AAA Star Reid named to U-17 Team Canada
Former AAA Star Luke Reid has been named to Team Canada’s U-17 team that will compete in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge this November.
The 16-year-old Warman native now plays for the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League, but spent two seasons in the Battlefords playing for the midget AAA Stars where he put up 38 points in 82 games. This year for the Vees, Reid has recorded five assists in nine games.
Every year, Canada sends three teams — black, white, and red — to the U-17 Hockey Challenge. Those teams compete against the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and the United States. This year, the event will be in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, B.C., from Nov. 5 to 11.
Five other Saskatchewan natives were named to Team Canada.
