N.B. crunches numbers to improve accounting technology
The City of North Battleford has managed to find savings in order to cover the cost for its new accounting software system upgrades.
At Tuesday’s meeting, council approved administration’s recommendation to recover the $15,000 cost for the Vadim system upgrades and services by reducing costs elsewhere in the city’s spending, since the fee wasn’t included in the 2017 budget.
The city’s director of finance Amarjit Mahil said in his written report the city currently relies heavily on work involving manual data, so it would be more efficient for to use the computer software system instead.
The cost for the Vadim support would include training staff on the new software and customizing the software to meet the city’s needs.
