BUH Foundation lottery raising money to update laboratory
The hospital foundation’s annual $100,000 grand prize lottery is back, with proceeds going to new and upgraded equipment for the laboratory.
Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) laboratory processes more than 200,000 tests every year and BUH Foundation Executive Director Claudette McGuire said that number is steadily increasing.
“In order to test a variety of specimens in a quicker, more accurate and detailed manner, the lab does need new medical equipment and to upgrade current units so they can be technologically advanced,” she said. “By purchasing lottery tickets, it helps us enrich patient care.”
The BUH Foundation $100,000 Cash Lottery kicks off Monday, Aug. 15, but McGuire said tickets are already being sold.
