Man charged with assault in Battleford

A man has been arrested and charged after an assault in Battleford on Tuesday.

According to a news release, Battlefords RCMP responded to the incident at roughly 7 p.m. on Dec. 27 at a residence on 3rd Ave. in Battleford.

The 31-year-old man was charged with assault and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.

Police said the victim sustained minor injuries from the assault.

Also on Tuesday, RCMP received a report of a vehicle being broken into some time overnight. The vehicle, which was parked on Abbott Ave. in North Battleford, had clothing stolen from it.

Early Wednesday morning, a vehicle was reported stolen from a residence in Red Pheasant First Nation. A beige 2013 Dodge Caravan was stolen between midnight and 3 a.m. on Dec. 28. The vehicle has the Saskatchewan license plate 321KHE.
