Vehicle stolen; thieves cut through fence over weekend

Battlefords RCMP arrested and charged a 15-year-old male with possession of stolen property after a vehicle was stolen on Sunday morning.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported stolen from a residence on Winder Crescent in North Battleford early on Sunday. RCMP located the vehicle abandoned on Millar Road and made the arrest shortly afterward.  The young offender cannot be identified.

Assault charges are also pending against an adult male after a reported disturbance at a residence on St. Laurent Drive. There were no injuries reported and the suspect remains at large.

Meanwhile, police continue to investigate a pair of break and enters on Sunday. Thieves cut through a fence and stole several items including tires from a storage compound on the 3000 block of 99 St. in North Battleford.

RCMP also report a break and enter into a residence on the 400 block of 33 St. in Battleford. The break in is believed to have happened sometime late Saturday morning.
