Fundraiser for assault victim to be held at Blend

Mar 3, 2017 | 4:00 PM

A fundraiser is being held for a North Battleford man after he was assaulted and robbed last month.

Clint’s R & R Steak Night is being held at Blend on March 4, hoping to raise funds for Clint Steinacher.

Clint Steinacher’s daughter, Taylor, has organized the event, hoping to give her father a break from the stressful ordeal he went through.

“My dad is doing great and healing well,” Taylor told a battlefordsNOW reporter through online chat. “The money will be used for him and my mom to go on a trip of some sort once he is healed completely or for them to treat themselves to something nice. My dad works a lot and is very busy. I believe he deserves a break.”

She said the reaction from the community has been amazing so far after Steinacher’s attack, and it’s opened up the conversation of crime in the community.

“Everyone has been really supportive for our family and my dad,” she said. “I think because my dad is so well known and loved in the community this was a big eye opener that yes, crime in [North Battleford] is happening. Be aware of it.”

Forty tickets have been sold for the event, and tickets can be purchased until the afternoon of March 4.
