Battlefords Chamber of Commerce to elect new directors

Members of the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce are asked to submit their ballots to vote in the Board of Directors election.

There are 12 seats up for grabs on the board, which is made up of 20 elected positions. Eleven open seats are for two-year terms and one is a one-year term as a result of a director resigning earlier in the year.

Of the 16 members running for the Board of Directors, six are incumbents.

The six incumbents are Terry Caldwell of Empress Furniture & Decor, Susan Challis of SaskTel, Melanie Roberts of North West College, Mitchell Cooper of Demmans Baldwin Friedman and Frank, Harris Sutherland of Gold Eagle Casino, and Bill Volk, an individual member.

The 10 new hopefuls are Ramona Maraj of Macro Properties, Sharon Mohagen of Blue Rentals, Kayla Petersen of Re/Max of the Battlefords, Janice Sander of Frontier Centre, David Fortier of Fortier Mattila Appraisals Inc., Tyrone Johnstone of TD Canada Trust, Jim Lafreniere of Bee J’s Office Plus, Derek Schmidt of Bill and Don’s Men’s Wear, Steven Ulven of Ilta Grain Inc. and Dallan Oberg of Holm Raiche Oberg, Chartered Professional Accountants.

Members have been mailed their official ballots, and the deadline to vote is Dec. 31.
