A different kind of football comes to new Mosaic Stadium
One of the top European soccer teams will be making their way to the Queen City this summer.
It was announced Tuesday morning that Valencia CF, a team from the La Liga soccer league in Spain, will be playing a friendly game against the North American Soccer League’s New York Cosmos.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have this event coming to Regina,” said Mayor Michael Fougere in a news release. “This is further confirmation that our iconic new stadium is a world-class venue. This is just one example of the myriad of ways this multi-purpose facility will be put to good use in the decades to come.”
The popularity of soccer has continued to rise in Regina and the teams are ecstatic about coming to new Mosaic Stadium.
