The group advanced to the finals and ultimately claimed the world championship title.

“It felt so special. When we won all together, we all, like, bawled our eyes out and it was so heartwarming,” Hennings said. “I had faith in us, but I didn’t know we were going to make it to finals because there were a lot of different groups that were really, really good.”

Hennings also finished fifth in the duet competition after advancing to the finals. Her small group placed 31st out of 54 entries, while she finished 112th in the solo competition.

Cheering her on from the audience was her mother, whose support made the international experience even more special.

“It was so nice to have someone that is supporting me in the audience,” she said.

After the experience, Hennings is already looking ahead to more opportunities to compete on the international stage.

“I definitely see myself doing Team Canada again and just going to a lot of dance events and stuff because I love it. I enjoy it so much!”
