North Battleford residents can turn a parking ticket into Christmas magic this holiday season, with the Toys for Tickets Campaign returning for another three years.

The campaign, which began in 2023, gives residents the option to pay their parking ticket at City Hall or donate a new toy valued at $20 or more, based on the actual ticket price or the discounted penalty amount if paid before the deadline.

“The program has been very successful,” said Lindsay Holm, director of protective services. “In 2023, we were able to get $1,940 worth of toys for kids at Christmas. [20]24 was a bit of a slower year… we didn’t achieve the full time period. 2025 is about $1,700 again.”

In 2023 and 2025, the donated toys went to Battlefords Interval House, while the Battlefords District Food and Resource Centre received the donations in 2024.
