Recapping recent high school sports in the Battlefords

Oct 8, 2026 | 4:56 PM

As the school year continues, so does the high school sports season.

Football

The North Battleford Comprehensive High School Vikings football team has a 2-1 record heading into its game against Martensville.

In their last game, the Vikings defeated the Lloydminster Barons 12-6 at home.

A win over Martensville tonight would move the Vikings into second place in the 12-a-side North Saskatchewan League.

The Vikings have two regular-season games remaining, against Martensville and Saskatoon Marion Graham.

Cross country

The cross-country district championships were recently held at Table Mountain. The Vikings sent 26 runners to what cross-country coach Gary Ball described as one of the toughest courses he has ever seen.

Of the 26 runners, 13 came home with medals.
