North Battleford auction sets $12.7M site record

Jul 8, 2026 | 1:26 PM

Ritchie Bros.’ latest North Battleford online auction generated more than $12.7 million in gross transaction value, setting a new site record and more than doubling last year’s total.

The record-breaking auction attracted strong participation and competitive bidding from buyers across Western Canada. Improved growing conditions after years of drought, along with demand for field-ready equipment ahead of harvest, helped drive interest.

A large retirement dispersal from Panarama Agra Ltd., along with major equipment consignments from Meadow Power & Equipment, helped drive the auction’s success. Ritchie Bros. said securing the Panarama Agra fleet early attracted additional high-quality consignments, while its local operations team prepared the equipment to showcase it in top condition.

“North Battleford delivered an outstanding historic result, fueled by an exceptional lineup of late-model machinery and an improved agricultural outlook across the prairies,” said Luke Fritshaw, director of sales at Ritchie Bros. “Securing major, high-quality dispersals early allowed us to build a premier showcase. When you pair an unmatched fleet with active regional buyer demand ahead of harvest, it creates incredibly competitive outcomes.”

Bidding was strongest in several equipment categories, particularly haying equipment, where several premium units sold at record prices. Buyers also showed strong interest in newer machinery, including Case IH Quadtrac tractors, MacDon headers, Elmers grain carts and a Degelman heavy harrow.

The combine market was more varied. John Deere combines sold close to expectations, New Holland CR9.90 models exceeded targets slightly, while Case IH combines saw softer demand.

Ritchie Bros. said the results reflect continued strength in Western Canada’s agricultural equipment market, with both local and online buyers competing for quality used machinery.

Producers planning to sell equipment before the fall season can request a complimentary valuation through Ritchie Bros. or contact a regional representative.
