Showcasing the grit, talent, and year-round dedication of Saskatchewan’s next generation of agricultural leaders, the 2026 Prairieland Junior Ag Showcase brings the region’s top 4-H competitors to the Prairieland Ag Center from July 2–6, 2026.

Far more than a standard competition, the Prairieland Junior Ag Showcase stands as the Northwest Region’s premier youth agriculture event. It is a vibrant, multi-day celebration of the deep agricultural knowledge, hands-on skills, and tireless work ethic these young leaders cultivate to perfect their projects year-round.

The action kicks off on Thursday, July 2, with a dynamic Light Horse Show featuring impressive performance and gymkhana classes. From July 4 through 6, the spotlight shifts to the barns, highlighting the incredible achievements of youth exhibitors across the Finished Steer, Beef Female, and Sheep projects.

But the talent doesn’t stop at the show ring. The Showcase of Arts provides a fantastic opportunity for participants to display their creative skills, featuring top-tier woodworking, photography, baking, crafts, and visual arts entries.

“The Junior Ag Showcase is about more than competition—it’s about building confidence, leadership, responsibility, and lifelong connections within agriculture,” says Leigh Ann Hurlburt, Agriculture Manager at Prairieland. “We are proud to provide a platform where youth can learn, grow, and celebrate their accomplishments.”

The showcase builds to an exciting crescendo on Monday, July 6, with the annual 4-H Finished Steer Sale. This high-energy finale is a community highlight where local businesses, industry supporters, and the public come together to invest directly in the next generation of agricultural leaders.
