The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Australian kicker Alex Hale, who’s coming to the province after a year with the Green Bay Packers in the NFL.

Hale, 27, who is originally from Gosford, Australia, signed with Green Bay in August of 2024 as an undrafted free agent and was released by the team in July of 2025.

Before signing with the Packers, Hale suited up for 29 games with the Oklahoma State Cowboys during his collegiate career, and finished his senior season ranked at the top of the Football Bowl Subdivision after making 2.08 field goals per game. His average of nine points per game put him sixth among kickers, the Roughriders noted.

“His 27 field goals ranked second most in a season in Cowboys history and tied the school record for made field goals in a game (five against Kansas State on Oct. 6, 2023),” the Riders said in a statement.
