North Stars prepare for home weekend against Melville Millionaires

Nov 28, 2025 | 12:41 PM

The Battlefords North Stars (11-5-2-2, 3rd in Nutrien Division) are looking for their fifth straight win tonight when they host the Melville Millionaires (10-11-1-2, 4th in Bunge Division).

The North Stars took down the Humboldt Broncos 2-1 in their last game on Nov. 22, while the Millionaires are also coming off a 3-0 victory over the Warman Wolverines.

North Stars forward Finlay Klippenstein will look to extend his goal streak to five games. Klippenstein has been on fire recently with six goals in his five-game goal streak, and eight goals in his last seven games.

Millionaires forward Kale Margolis has been playing well for Melville in the past few games; he had a pair of goals in the win against Warman and has five goals in his last six games. With 26 points (12g, 14a), Margolis is tied for the team lead in points with Boston Harkness.

On the North Stars side, defenceman Gavin Granger is leading the team in points with 20 (4g, 16a) while captain Anthony Campbell and assistant captain Josh Knittig aren’t far behind with 19 points apiece.

Last time the North Stars and Millionaires faced off was on Nov. 1 when the Millionaires took down the North Stars, 2-1 in overtime. Preston Baerwald scored the overtime winner in that game, while Linken Fisher was the lone goal scorer for the North Stars.

Battlefords will be turning to young goaltender Steele Bass between the pipes. In his last game, Bass stopped 38 of 41 shots in a 4-3 win over the Broncos on Nov. 21. The 17-year-old holds a 3-1-1-1 record with a .924 save percentage and 2.96 goals against average.

With a win, the North Stars could jump to sixth place in the SJHL standings. A North Stars win and a Broncos loss against the Estevan Bruins would put the North Stars in 2nd place in the Nutrien Division, only behind the Kindersley Klippers.

The Ultra Print Pregame show begins at 7:00 pm Saskatchewan time, while Napa Auto Parts North Stars hockey starts at 7:30 on CJNB/CJNS when the North Stars aim for their fifth straight victory.
