Humboldt Broncos Memorial Site starts to take shape

Nov 4, 2024 | 12:50 PM

After the sod was turned on the Humboldt Broncos Memorial Site earlier this year, the work has officially started and the site is starting to take shape.

Through the efforts of volunteers and companies putting their time, efforts, and even donating the supplies will make the planned memorial come to life.

Plans for what the memorial site will look like once completed. (Humboldt Broncos Tribute Campaign)

The location is set to have a parking lot for with room for 30 vehicles as well as a spot dedicated for buses since so many of the people that stop by to pay tribute are hockey teams. There will also be two separate memorial sites, and a small pond with 29 feet of walking track around it to commemorate the 29 people on the bus during the crash.

The ground around the area had to be leveled by Kirsch Construction so that they can pour the concrete thanks to the folks at WestCrete Concrete, and Paramount Paving is donating their time to pave the parking lot area.

There’s currently no timeline for when the memorial site will be completed.
