A former employee of the Lloydminster Public School Division (LPSD) is facing charges after allegedly stealing over $7,800.

That’s according to the province which announced the lost funds on Friday.

“The employee has been terminated and the case was referred to the RCMP, where charges have been laid. As this issue is currently before the courts, LPSD will have no further comments on this matter,” said Jason Neville, LPSD director of education.

The employee was charged with one count of theft over $5,000 and will appear in an Alberta courtroom on Feb. 5th.
