Battlefords, Meadow Lake each get $800K for services
Meadow Lake and the Battlefords are each set to receive an injection of funds thanks to the Municipal Police Grants Services from the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety.
A total of $800,000 will each go towards supporting the current RCMP officers in both areas and according to a news release, the program “supports enhanced community policing.”
MeadowlakeNOW reached out to the mayors of both communities, and both were unavailable at the time of publication.
In the release, North Battleford Mayor David Gillan said, “Given the city’s commitment to supporting community safety, we are pleased to partner with the province on several initiatives to reduce the volume of criminal activity in North Battleford and to enhance enforcement measures.”
