RCMP searching for man who fled from officers and damaged police vehicle

Sep 19, 2023 | 5:50 PM

RCMP from North Battleford and Prince Albert are working together to search for a wanted man.

This comes after 27-year-old Tyler Daniels of the Little Red River Reserve allegedly fled from police during a traffic stop on Monday night on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

An investigation found that the vehicle involved was reported stolen from Christopher Lake on Sept. 1.

Later that night, RCMP officers found the vehicle parked outside a home on the Little Red River Reserve. As one officer approached the vehicle, the driver put it in reverse ramming the police vehicle and narrowly hitting another officer.

No one was injured but the police vehicle sustained heavy damage.

The North Battleford Crime Reduction Team has since laid a number of charges against Daniels including flight from police, assault on an officer with a weapon, and possession of property obtained by crime.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest and many Saskatchewan RCMP detachments and units are working to find him.

If you have any details on his whereabouts, you’re asked to contact the RCMP at 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
