Members of the North Battlefords Gang Task Force have found and arrested a man wanted on multiple offences throughout west-Central Saskatchewan and connected to a shooting incident.

Dennis Kennedy, 34, was one of three suspects wanted for the offences. He is set to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday for charges stemming from incidents in Lloydminster, Maidstone, and North Battleford from April 30 to July 15.

In May, police issued a media release describing a discharged firearm that resulted in an injured woman on Moosomin First Nation, an armed robbery with a firearm incident in Maidstone, and numerous traffic stops that failed to stop a grey Ford F-350 that was reported stolen out of North Battleford. In one of the traffic stops, a police cruiser was rammed rendering it inoperable.

Kennedy is charged with two counts of mischief, two counts of theft under $5,000, robbery with a firearm, discharging a firearm while reckless, three counts of flight from police, four counts of failing to comply with a release order, unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault with a weapon on a police officer, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resisting arrest and identity fraud.

Leonard Wuttunee, 48, was previously charged in connection to the same series of incidents and is before the courts facing several charges including robbery with a firearm, discharging a firearm while reckless, mischief, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon contrary to order, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Veronica Whitford, 44, from Battleford, was also charged with robbery, reckless discharge of a firearm, mischief, flight from police and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
