Police request public report sightings on suspicious truck connected to several incidents

May 17, 2023 | 1:04 PM

UPDATE: On Thursday, RCMP said they found the F-350 and arrested the three occupants.

Police are asking the public to report sightings of a truck that was stolen out of North Battleford on Sunday.

The grey 2006 F-350 Super Duty pickup truck is alleged to be involved in multiple criminal incidents.

It displayed licence plate 720 KBF during some of those incidents, but police say it’s possible the suspects could have changed the plate. The truck has a burned out driver’s side taillight.

Police say the descriptions of the suspects are limited, but they are believed to be armed and dangerous. Do not approach the truck or suspects.

If you see the truck, you are urged to report the sighting to police immediately. Secure all freestanding and slip fuel tanks with locks as police say fuel thefts have been reported to police.

Ensure tractors are locked and keys from all your vehicles are removed.

The incidents include:

An armed robbery on May 14 around midnight when the suspects entered a Maidstone residence with a firearm. Police say two males wore ski masks while a female demanded money from a resident of the home. When the suspects left, one of them discharged their firearm in the air. Police say no injuries were reported, but officers noted the F-350 truck fleeing the area.

The next day, May 15, around 10 p.m. Cut Knife RCMP officers located the suspect vehicle on Poundmaker Cree Nation. When they attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle did not stop and fled at a high rate of speed. The truck was not located after an extensive search, police say.

Then on May 16, around 2:30 a.m. Battlefords RCMP located the truck on 110th Street in North Battleford. Another traffic stop was attempted, but the driver did not stop and rammed a police vehicle. The officers were not injured, but the vehicle was rendered inoperable. Other Mounties began patrolling in search of the truck. It was located on Highway 4. Police attempted another traffic stop, but the vehicle fled.

Later that day around 2:30 p.m., Biggar RCMP received a report of a discharged firearm in the R.M. of Glenside. It was determined the suspect truck entered the property and a group of male suspects attempted to steal diesel from a tractor. The suspects discharged a firearm when leaving the property. No injuries were reported. After patrols, the truck was not located.

That same evening Warman RCMP received another fuel theft report from Maymont which potentially involved the suspect truck. Police said they received another report of the truck observed leaving a gas station on the Yellowhead Highway near Radisson. Officers patrolled the area and located the truck on Highway 16 near the Borden Bridge. It fled after an attempted traffic stop. A search for the truck was unsuccessful.

Police are continuing their efforts to locate the truck and the suspects connected to it. The public may note of an increased police presence in west-central Saskatchewan.
