Maidstone RCMP investigate armed robbery

May 16, 2023 | 10:22 AM

RCMP believe a truck that was reported stolen in North Battleford, was involved in a violent incident at Maidstone Sunday night.

At approximately 11:55 p.m., officers responded to a home on the 100 block of 3rd Avenue East in Battleford for a report of an armed robbery.

Initial investigation determined two males wearing ski masks and a female were demanding money from an occupant of the residence.

When the suspects left the residence, one of the suspects discharged a firearm in the air. There were no injuries reported to police.

Officers responded immediately and located a grey 2006 Ford F-350 Super Duty with Saskatchewan licence plate 720 KBF leaving the residence. The truck was reported as stolen from North Battleford earlier that day.

The truck fled from police and continued east of Maidstone. A pursuit was initiated and continued for 15 minutes. The truck was last seen turning north on Highway 16 and was able to escape.

Based on preliminary information gathered by police to date, this is believed to be an isolated incident.

Maidstone RCMP are asking the public to report sightings of the grey 2006 Ford F-350 truck, or any information relating to this incident.
