Battlefords RCMP are investigating after a woman’s truck was carjacked early Sunday morning.

According to police, the incident took place shortly after 1 a.m. September 18, on Highway 4, south of Battleford.

The woman’s pickup truck was stolen after two suspects threatened to hurt her. The vehicle was later found abandoned a few kilometres from where the carjacking took place. The victim was not injured in the theft.

In an interview Wednesday morning Battlefords RCMP Sgt. Neil Tremblay said there is always concern with crimes such as carjackings because of the elevated threat of violence. Tremblay added investigators are following some leads and they believe they are close to identifying the two suspects involved in the incident.
