The city announced last month that the area has been approved as eligible for PDAP. The program provides assistance for uninsurable losses of essential goods to help people recover from pre-disaster conditions, for those who are eligible.

Application forms are available on the PDAP website, as well as through the City of North Battleford website, or in person at City Hall. Property owners who want to apply for consideration for assistance will need to complete and return the Private Property Application form to PDAP.

People will have to complete their Registration of Claims and return it to PDAP by Dec. 13 The work on the property in question must be completed by June 23 next year.

Dustin Tungilik MacDonald, City of North Battleford Communications Administrator, encourages affected property owners to attend the Open House.

He also wanted to take the opportunity to promote the city’s Voyent Alert! communication service provider. People can register for the service through the city’s website link to receive timely notifications of critical events such as fires, floods and significant weather events in North Battleford, as well as for updates on such things as street closures.

“It’s been a pretty handy tool for us as the City, and from what I heard for the residents,” Tungilik MacDonald said.
