RCMP investigating vandalism, vehicle theft

May 13, 2022 | 4:42 PM

The RCMP are asking residents in the northwest region to be on the lookout for two vehicles from separate incidents.

The first involved vandalism at a business in Glaslyn. A call regarding a break and enter came at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon, where suspects entered a carport in town and proceeded to steal tools from the back of a truck parked inside. Shortly after, they proceeded to vandalize a vehicle parked in the lot of a local business.

Surrounding detachments are on the lookout for an older, grey GMC Sierra, which has an extended cab and black trim along the bottom, as well as a black tailgate. It’s believed there were three people in the truck, reportedly two males and one female.

Glaslyn RCMP have asked the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle, but advised people not to approach if it’s seen but to instead call their local detachments.

Police are also looking for a stolen truck from the Battlefords. A red 1997 Chevrolet 2500 crew cab (Sask License 893-MGQ) was reportedly taken around 4:30 p.m. from the bridges between Battleford and North Battleford.

Anyone with information on either vehicle can call their local detachment, 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
