A man has been charged in relation to Sunday’s standoff on Kildeer Drive.

The 32-year-old male subject who was taken into custody that evening appeared in court on Wednesday in North Battleford. He’s charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

RCMP members responded to the complaint from Sunday afternoon that a person had armed and barricaded themselves on Kildeer Drive, alerting the public and blocking access to the area. After roughly four hours, the subject was taken into custody.

Sgt. Neil Tremblay told battlefordsNOW the man was remanded to appear again this morning by closed circuit. He added that he hasn’t yet confirmed whether there’s a publication ban or not on details like the subject’s name.
