Police are asking for the public for help in locating a person with information related to an ongoing double-homicide investigation.

Battlefords RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continue to investigate the Christmas Eve homicides of Alyssa LeCaine and Daphne Bear. They were located deceased after a residential fire on the 1000 block of 108th Street in North Battleford.

As part of the inquiry, Major Crimes has released surveillance footage from a back alley between 108th and 109th Street. The individual in the video is shown entering the alley after crossing 10th Avenue.

This footage is from Dec. 24. Police believe the person in the video can help with the double-homicide ivnestigation.

“Investigators would like to speak with this person as they may have important information about Alyssa and Daphne’s deaths,” Superintendent Joshua Graham, Officer in Charge of Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, said in a media release.

Graham added that surveillance systems owned privately or by businesses give law enforcement better opportunities to utilize video to assist investigations like this one.

“In the video investigators released today, viewers can note trim around the hood of the jacket and distinctive brown or yellow-coloured boots,” he said. “We are hoping these two notable features will help us identify the individual in the video.

Anyone who can identify this person or has information about them can report that to the Battlefords RCMP detachment, as well as call 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

Additionally, anyone with surveillance cameras in these areas can check their footage to determine if they recorded this individual between 3:00-3:45 p.m. on Dec. 24.
