City council approves land sale off 114 Street

North Battleford city council approved a land sale at its meeting this week.

Director of Corporate Services Jennifer Niesink said administration received an offer of purchase for the city’s vacant lot at 602-114 Street, which is located in an industrial area in North Battleford.

The land is about five acres in size.

Niesink said the offer came from a private buyer who will be opening a new business.

“There will be an announcement made in the coming weeks about what that business is,” she said.

Council approved the private buyer’s offer to purchase the lot for $429,200. The purchase is subject to conditions, as outlined in the City of North Battleford’s purchasing policy.

The city could not provide any further information about the purchase at this time as the details are still being finalized.

The city said the private buyer would be disclosing their identity publicly by Oct. 13, 2021.
