They say laughter is the best medicine, and now it will also support local charities.

The Human Condition Comedy Tour will begin this fall. The tour will consist of three comedians traveling all across Western Canada to lift spirits and raise money for an array of different local charities and causes.

They will be in North Battleford on September 3 at the Metaxxas Tavern with proceeds to benefit the Battlefords District Food and Resource Centre.

Scott Porteous, the comedian primarily responsible for the planning of the tour, is based out of Winnipeg and has been doing comedy for 16 years.

He will be joined by Shawn Gramiak who is based out of Edmonton with 15 years of comedy experience. Rounding out the trio will be Toronto’s Frank Russo, who has been in comedy for 10 years.

Each comedian brings their own unique style and delivery to the tour. Gramiak is a veteran storyteller, Russo has the ability to take the mundane and drag it into the absurd and Porteous claims to be incredibly awkward and hilarious with a self-deprecating sense of humour.

“Between the three of us you have probably 40 years of comedy experience on this tour so it’s going to be a really great time,” Porteous said.

He added he hopes the tour is a unifying experience for the comedians, the communities and their charities. He hopes the title of the show represents that.

“I wanted something to embody what we’re doing, involving the charity. The human condition is something that brings us all together regardless of views or beliefs there is always some common bond that we can utilize to come together,” he said.

Tickets are available at the Metaxxas Tavern.
