Arrests made, man wanted after home invasion

Apr 8, 2019 | 3:22 PM

One man is wanted and two others have been arrested following a home invasion with firearms on the Saulteaux First Nation.

RCMP responded to the complaint Sunday night at around 10:10 p.m. When they arrived, they spotted the suspect’s vehicle leaving the area and pulled it over.

Two people were removed and taken into custody for a number of firearms and driving offences. While this was taking place, RCMP said a third person emerged from a nearby yard and threatened police with a machete. The person then picked up what appeared to be a sawed-off firearm and continued to taunt police to engage him but running off.

The person was later identified through police investigation.

Twenty-four-year-old Jordy Moccasin and 36-year-old Malcolm Moccasin have been remanded in custody and will appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Tuesday. They are facing a number of weapons, property and driving charges.

Police are asking for help in locating 29-year-old Dwayne Katcheech, who is currently wanted on charges in connection to the home invasion.

Katcheech is six feet tall, 190 lbs, with short brown hair, and a heavy set build.
