Veteran linebacker Chip Cox agrees to one-year contract with Montreal Alouettes
MONTREAL — Veteran line-backer Chip Cox agreed to a one-year deal Tuesday with the Montreal Alouettes.
Cox, 34, is entering his 12th season with Montreal.
The native of Columbus, Ohio, has won two Grey Cups with Montreal (2009-10) and was named the CFL’s top defensive player in 2013. The four-time league all-star is the Alouettes’ all-time leader in defensive tackles (901).
“Chip is one of our leaders on defence,” GM Kavis Reed said in a statement. “Over the years, he’s won individual awards all while being part of championship teams.
