To get elected in 2015, Justin Trudeau and the Liberals promised voters to change how environmental assessments were run for projects like pipelines.
The Liberal approval — and now purchase — of the Trans Mountain pipeline linking Alberta’s oilsands to the B.C. coast led NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh last week to charge that Trudeau broke his environmental promises, specifically “the promise to renew the environmental assessment process.”
