Town planning free skate for Canada 150 celebration
Battlefords residents looking for some family fun before the holidays will be able to head to the town’s indoor arena for a free public skate and maybe meet a local star at the same time.
The event is part of ongoing celebrations to recognize Canada’s 150th anniversary.
“It’s open to every age – no matter if you’re three or 95, come out and enjoy the day,” Mayor Ames Leslie said. “It’s great to have a community event where we can bring the community together.”
The Canada 150 Skating Day event will include appearances by a number of Battlefords North Stars players to greet fans and sign autographs.
