Town of Battleford salutes veteran with huge turnout
Close to two hundred people gathered in St. Vital’s School gymnasium in Battleford on Saturday morning to pay homage to the men and women who fought and are still fighting for our country and the freedom’s that we enjoy on daily basis during Remembrance Day Services.
The event, hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #9, began with the ceremonial two minutes of silence followed by a reading of “In Flanders Field’s” along with scripture readings.
“My heart swelled with pride seeing the huge turnout here today,” Legion President Esther Delainey said. “Every year it gets bigger and it shows our veterans that we really do care about them and the sacrifice that our soldiers have made.”
