Sask firefighters make a Splash in North Battleford

Jul 9, 2017 | 9:01 AM

Those who passed by Splish Splash Auto Saturday afternoon may have seen some fire trucks, but crews were spraying down vehicles rather than a fire.

The Saskatchewan Professional Firefighters Association put away the camera for calendar shoots to pick up squeegees and raise funds for the North Battleford Burn Fund.

The Saskatchewan Burn Fund’s mandate is to help survivors with current and future issues. Money from this pool is directed towards a variety of things such as equipment, education, medical professionals, and financial relief for victims and their families.

According to Nathan Johnson, a Saskatchewan Burn Fund representative, the event raised nearly $1,500, but money wasn’t the primary purpose of the event.
