Trappers fall to 3-8; eliminated from NSRBL playoffs
The Battlefords Trappers have been involved in high-scoring shootouts in their past two North Saskatchewn River Baseball League (NSRBL) games.
Unfortunately for them, they lost both.
After a 14-11 loss to Lloydminster one week ago Thursday and then a 12-8 loss to Meadow Lake last night, they are now 3-8 on the season, which means their playoff hopes have disappeared all too quickly.
“If you look at our early games in the season, we lost a lot of very close games and we’ve tended to have some shootouts in the later part of the season,” said Trapper coach Michael Hudec following the 12-8 loss. “It comes down to getting the runs at the right time and [tonight] we didn’t hold them when we should have.”
