Local athlete makes Team Sask. bantam girls baseball team
John Paul II multi-sport athlete Kaitlin Tarasoff has made the provincial bantam girls baseball team that is headed to Baseball Canada’s 16-U Girls Invitational Championships this August in Vaughan, Ontario.
Tarasoff plays three positions with the AA bantam Beavers: pitcher, shortstop and centre field.
She attended Team Sask try-outs in early May, but provincial head coach Nathan Bourassa said Tarasoff was already on his radar because of off-season training she had taken part in in Saskatoon.
“In the off-season training I noticed she was just very coachable and receptive to feedback,” Bourassa said. “From the perspective of try-outs, she just looked like she had all the tools of a baseball player: hitting, running, fielding, and throwing.
