Train cars flipped sideways after derailment near Watrous

Crews were on the scene of an apparent train derailment at Watrous Thursday morning.

It happened along Highway 2 on the outskirts of the town.

Eric Pankratz saidhe drove past the scene around 7 a.m.

“There were two or three (train) cars in the ditch on each side. They had a hoe and a couple of semi-flatbeds there waiting,” Pankratz said.
