The 2018 Saskatchewan Youth Child Advocate report was released this week, highlighting some of the struggles and successes seen in the province over the past year.

Rooming house project moving ahead despite some opposition

A proposal for a rooming house in North Battleford received council’s approval at North Battleford City Hall Monday, despite some opposition from the public.

Council voted unanimously for the project to allow a rooming house to be developed at 1132 - 98 Street..

City council will decide at this Monday's meeting whether to amend zoning to develop  a "rooming house" which will provide long-term housing and support for up to eight homeless people.

A new construction project for long-term housing for up to eight homeless people has been proposed in North Battleford, with a second facility proposed for the future.

According to property manager, Ramona Maraj, Macro Properties has decided to ban all smoking in all buildings across the province, starting with North Battleford.
