National Aboriginal Day creates harmony through diversity

Jun 19, 2017 | 2:00 PM

Creating harmony through diversity will be the focus of this year’s National Aboriginal Day celebrations being held at the Battle River Treaty Office at 102 St. and 12 Ave.

In its 20th year, the celebration will feature a flag raising ceremony with town officials and many activities that will appeal to everyone.

“Each year this event gets bigger and bigger,” said Reilly Checkosis of the Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre. “It will be a celebration to remember for sure.”

Checkosis added there will be a free pancake breakfast along with traditional games, Elders tents and a great line-up of entertainers on stage.
