Two charged in hit and run that seriously injured 11-year-old

RCMP officers have identified and charged two people in relation to a hit and run incident on the Big River First Nation which left an 11-year-old child seriously injured.

Police have charged 20-year-old Colt Morin of the Big River First Nation with failure to stop at the scene of an injured person, impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, criminal negligence causing bodily harm, failure to comply with an undertaking, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and driving while suspended.

Morin’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 26 at 10 a.m. in Prince Albert Provincial Court.

Elizabeth Joseph, 37, of Big River First Nation is charged with failure to stop at the scene of an injured person and obstruction of justice.
