A local club has donated a life saving device to a retirement home who might otherwise go without.

The Rotary Club of the Battlefords president Warren Williams said the club was happy to help when they found out Caleb Village retirement home was in need of a new defibrillator. Several Rotary members and spouses live in the home, including long-time member Brodie Partington.

“(Caleb Village) didn’t have it in their budget and Brodie identified it as a need…” Williams said. “To have people not only feel safe, but actually be safer. Any way we’re able to contribute to our community we’re pleased to do so.”

The home hosted the club’s monthly social to show thanks for the donation on Monday, July 18. Williams presented Caleb Village general manager Shannon Langley with a cheque for the new device.
